Angels Vs. Red Sox Game Preview: Jered Weaver Eyes Bounce Back Performance

After losing 13 of their last 19 games, the Los Angeles Angels are in desperate need of a turnaround. Hopefully that will come in the form of Jered Weaver against the Boston Red Sox Wednesday night.

The Halos took care of business on Tuesday, but will need Weaver (15-3, 2.74 ERA) to be his dominate self once more tonight. After ten wins in a row Weaver has now taken back-to-back losses, allowing a career-high nine runs in Friday's 12-3 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays. Seven of those runs came in the fourth inning alone, which he departed without getting an out.

The Red Sox will counter with Clay Buchholz (11-3, 4.19), who has been outstanding in his own right for Boston this season. After some early struggles Buchholz owns a 7-1 record with a 2.16 ERA in 11 outings since the beginning of June. He is 3-0 with a 1.53 ERA is his last six starts and is 5-2 with a 3.95 ERA versus the Angels in seven career starts, taking the W in the last four.

Despite the win on Tuesday, the Halos have won just five of their previous 15 games at Fenway Park.

First pitch is set for 7:10 p.m. PT with coverage on Fox Sports West and KLLA 830 AM.
