Today marks Mike Trout's 100th game of his fantastic rookie season, and the Los Angeles Angels outfielder finds himself in some very elite company.
According to Elias, depending on how he hits tonight Trout could have the highest average of any rookie through 100 games, beating out the likes of Joe DiMaggio - among others - for that honor.
1936 DiMaggio, Joe, NY-A 100 GP, 153 H, 461 AB, .332 AVG
1954 Moon, Wally, St.L 100 GP, 145 H, 428 AB, .339 AVG
1964 Oliva, Tony, Min. 100 GP, 144 H, 428 AB, .336 AVG
1934 Trosky, Hal, Cle. 100 GP, 140 H, 409 AB, .342 AVG
2012 Trout, Mike, LA-A 99 GP, 137 H, 400 AB, .343 AVG
Trout is tied for second with Shoeless Joe Jackson in runs through first 100 games and can pass him tonight (and possibly catch DiMaggio for first).
1936 DiMaggio, Joe, NY-A 100 GP, 100 R
2012 Trout, Mike, LA-A 99 GP, 96 R

1924 Cuyler, Kiki, Pit. 100 GP, 84 R
1951 Minoso, Minnie, Cle.-ChiA 100 GP, 84 R
Trout is also in the top 10 for most stolen bases in the first 100 games of their rookie season - although he is completely out of reach to catch Vince Coleman in that one.
1985 Coleman, Vince, St.L 100 GP, 81 R
1981 Raines, Tim, Mon. 88 GP, 71 R
1984 Samuel, Juan, Phi. 100 GP, 47 R
1986 Cangelosi, John, ChiA 100 GP, 44 R
1995 Veras, Quilvio, Fla. 100 GP, 42 R
1982 Dernier, Bob, Phi. 100 GP, 40 R
1990 Cole, Alex, Cle. 63 GP, 40 R

2012 Trout, Mike, LA-A 99 GP, 39 R
1984 Pettis, Gary, Cal. 100 GP, 39 R
The Angels need Trout to keep being Trout. The speedy youngster all but has the Rookie of the Year title locked up, and has his name thrown about as the AL MVP as well, but the Angels are faltering down the stretch.
