Angels Vs. Orioles Final Score: Jered Weaver, Scott Downs Shut Out Baltimore, 3-0

The Los Angeles Angels took a 2-1 lead in their four-game series against the Baltimore Orioles with a big shutout win at Angel Stadium on Saturday night. Jered Weaver improved to 10-1 with eight dominating innings in a 3-0 shutout win for Los Angeles.

The Angels opened the scoring in the bottom of the fourth when Howie Kendrick drove in Mark Trumbo with an RBI single. Two more runs came in the bottom of the seventh, thanks to an RBI double by Torii Hunter and an RBI single by Kendrys Morales. That would prove to be more than enough run support for Weaver.

Weaver allowed just three hits and one walk in eight innings, striking out five Orioles batters and lowering his ERA to 1.96. Scott Downs pitched a perfect ninth inning and picked up his eighth save as he combined with Weaver for the shutout.

The Halos have assured themselves at least a series split heading into the All-Star break. However, they will try to secure the series win on Sunday in the last game before the break.
