Angels Vs. Rangers Final Score: Jered Weaver, Albert Pujols Lead Halos To 6-2 Victory

Two games in Arlington down, two to go. The Los Angeles Angels are right where they want to be so far, having taken the first two games of their four-game series against the first-place Texas Rangers. Los Angeles ace Jered Weaver was again excellent for the Halos, taking a perfect game into the fifth inning as the Angels picked up the 6-2 win.

Albert Pujols opened the scoring with a solo home run in the top of the fourth. Mike Trout and Pujols each hist solo home runs in the sixth to make it 4-0 Angels. Pujols' second homer was his 20th of the season, but it was also the 465th of his career, tying him with Dave Winfield for 31st place on the all-time list. Trout's homer, meanwhile, was his 10th in July, making him only the second Angels rookie to belt 10 homers in a month, joining Wally Joyner.

Torii Hunter hit a two-run RBI double in the seventh inning to make it 6-0 Angels. David Murphy finally got the Rangers on the board with a two-run double in the seventh, but that would be it for Texas' offense.

Weaver improved to 14-1 with a 2.29 ERA by allowing two runs on five hits and a walk in 6.1 innings pitched.

The Angels have secured at least a series split, but they will try ensure a series win with a victory on Wednesday.
