The biggest name on the trade market is now gone. According to multiple sources on Friday afternoon, the Los Angeles Angels have acquired starting pitcher Zack Greinke from the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for three prospects. One of the players heading to Milwaukee is believed to be shortstop Jean Segura, who ranked as the Angels' No. 2 prospect entering the year.

As for Greinke, the Angels add a pitcher who is three years removed from winning the Cy Young award. He will fit in very nicely along with Jered Weaver and C.J. Wilson, giving the club one of the best pitching staffs in baseball. In 21 starts with the Brewers this season, Greinke is 9-3 with an ERA of 3.44, 8.93 K/9 and 2.05 BB/9.

Here is the confirmation from FOX Sports.

This is a huge trade for the Angels. They will have to re-sign Greinke in the offseason as he hits free agency, but that is a different situation in itself. L.A. has added the best pitcher on the market, and now they have to be seen as very serious contenders for a World Series championship.
