The Los Angeles Angels made a big statement over the weekend, as they took two of three games from the first-place Texas Rangers. While the Rangers will return home to play the Boston Red Sox, the Angels have perhaps an easier task on their plate, as they will remain at Angel Stadium to host the Kansas City Royals in a three-game series.
The Royals have continued to scuffle and are just 3-7 over their last 10 games. Still, they are a half-game ahead of the Minnesota Twins for last place in the American League Central. The Angels dropped some early-season games to the Royals, but this is a much more well-oiled machine ... one that features Mike Trout and Mark Trumbo in everyday, lethal roles.
