Angels Vs. Tigers Final Score: Mike Trout, Albert Pujols, Mark Trumbo Power Halos To 13-0 Win

In a battle of rookie pitchers on Tuesday night at Comerica Park in Detroit, the Los Angeles Angels came out far ahead of the Detroit Tigers. The Halos jumped on Jacob Turner for three home runs and seven runs in two innings on their way to an 13-0 win over the Tigers to even their four-game series at one game apiece.

After Albert Pujols singled in Mike Trout in the first inning, new cleanup man Mark Trumbo hit a three-run home run to give the Angels a 4-0 lead after just four batters. The Halos added three more runs in the second inning when Trout hit a two-run home run and was followed by a solo shot from Pujols.

Trumbo also doubled, and the trio of Trout, Pujols, and Trumbo combined to go 9-for-15 on Tuesday with seven runs scored and seven runs batted in. Trout had four hits on the night, giving him a team-best 100 safeties on the season in just 69 games.

The Angels added four more runs in the sixth inning, highlighted by a three-run home run by Alberto Callaspo. In the eight inning Kendrys Morales homered off Darin Downs for the Angels' fifth home run of the season, the most they have hit since August 27, 2011 against Texas.

That was more than enough support for Garrett Richards, who was recalled from Triple A Salt Lake to start Tuesday night. After allowing 25 runs in 12 1/3 innings in his last three starts between Anaheim and Salt Lake, Richards pitched ... shutout innings on Tuesday, allowing three hits and four walks while striking out two.

Turner was making just his fifth major league start, and two of them have been against the Angels. The Halos beat Turner on July 30, 2011 in his major league debut and have now handed him losses in both of his major league decisions.

C.J. Wilson starts the third game of the series on Wednesday night for the Angels, while the Tigers will counter with Doug Fister on the mound.
