Angels' Dan Haren To Pitch For Class A Monday On Rehab Assignment

While the Los Angeles Angels open a four-game series in the Motor City against the Detroit Tigers on Monday, starting pitcher Dan Haren is back in California, where he will start for the Class A Inland Empire 66ers in a rehab assignment.

Haren, who went on the disabled list with lower back tightness, is 6-8 with a 4.86 ERA this season. This is the first ever minor league rehab start for Haren, who has been one of the most durable pitchers in baseball. He started between 33 and 35 games for seven straight seasons from 2005-2011.

Haren is expected to pitch four or five innings for the 66ers on Monday, as they host the Lake Elsinore Storm in a California League battle. First pitch in San Bernardino is at 7:05 p.m. PDT.
