C.J. Wilson has been on a steady improvement scale year after year, and actually is putting up solid numbers this season, posting a 2.54 ERA while going 6-4 this season So why does he top the list as the most overrated MLB pitcher out there?
Wilson is serving out the first year of a five-year, $77.5 million contract, which seems a little excessive considering he's posted a career ERA of 3.54 going into this season. Although he's performing well in his first year (a year that will see him make $10 million), Wilson's contract is pretty exorbitant considering his prior results, so it's easy to see why he'd be considered overrated. He would need to do a lot more to earn that contract.
