On Wednesday night, the Los Angeles Angels faced off against the San Francisco Giants as Jered Weaver returned to action. The Angels managed to capture the three-game series as the defeated the Giants by a final score of 6-0.
The Angels opened the scoring in the bottom of the second inning. With two outs, Alberto Callaspo hit his fourth home run of the season to right field. The Halos added another two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning on RBI singles by Erick Aybar and Mike Trout.
Kendrys Morales added another home run to lead off the bottom of the eighth and make it 4-0 Angels. The shot was Morales' eighth of the year. Mark Trumbo then went back-to-back with his 17th homer of the season. Both dingers came off reliever Shane Loux. Bobby Wilson doubled home Howie Kendrick to stretch the Angels lead all the way out to 6-0.
Weaver was fantastic in his return game after a stint on the disabled list. He gave up just two hits and two walks in six innings of work, while striking out three. He improves to 7-1 with the win. Giants starter Ryan Vogelsong notched a quality start for the visitors, but took the loss.
