Angels Activate Jered Weaver, Place Jerome Williams On 15-Day Disabled List

The Los Angeles Angels made a pair of roster moves on Tuesday. The team activated ace Jered Weaver from the 15-day disabled list. Weaver made the start in Tuesday's series finale against the San Francisco Giants. In a corresponding move, the Angels placed starter Jerome Williams on the 15-day DL.

Williams left the game early in Monday's game against the Giants after giving up a string of baserunners. Shortly after leaving the game, Williams was taken to the hospital with shortness of breath. Williams was kept at the hospital overnight and released the following day.

The official reason given by the team for placing Williams on the disabled list is for the pitcher to receive further evaluation and testing concerning his shortness of breathing following his start on Monday. Garrett Richards, who was called up to fill in for Weaver during Weaver's stint on the DL, will remain in the rotation.
