Angels Vs. Diamondbacks Final Score: Halos Capture Series With Second Straight 2-0 Win

The Los Angeles Angels won their second straight shutout on Sunday afternoon as they captured an interleague series against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Starting pitcher Garrett Richards continued his strong work filling in for the injured Jered Weaver as he led the Angels to another 2-0 win over the snakes.

Albert Pujols got the Angels on the board as he led off the bottom of the fourth inning with his 10th home run of the year. Mike Trout added an RBI double in the bottom of the seventh for the big insurance run, but Richards made sure the D-backs wouldn't get to home plate.

Richards walked Miguel Montero to lead off the top of the ninth and was replaced by Ernesto Frieri, who set down the next three Arizona batters to finish up the shutout. Richards allowed four hits, four walks and a hit batsman in eight innings while striking out five. Richards is now 2-0 with an ERA of just 0.86.

The Angels will now prepare for their next interleague opponent, as the San Francisco Giants come to town on Monday.
