The Los Angeles Angels are currently on their best run of the season and they picked the best possible time to get hot. They have won six straight and return to Anaheim to host the New York Yankees for three games. If the Angels wanted to make a big statement that they're to be taken seriously in 2012, now is the time to do it.
If the bats of Albert Pujols, Mark Trumbo and Kendrys Morales can stay hot, a series win or perhaps even sweep of the Yanks is possible. On the other hand, if the pitching can't keep New York in the ballpark, this series could get very messy, very quickly. Either way, it will be entertaining to watch.
TV Schedule & Probable Pitchers
Monday's game will begin at 6:05 p.m. PT and will be televised on FOX Sports West and the MLB Network. You can find the radio broadcast on KLAA 830. The Angels will get their best possible pitching matchup right away, as their one true lights-out ace, Jered Weaver, takes the hill against Phil Hughes, who has been the least consistent pitcher in the Yankees rotation.
Tuesday's first pitch will be at 7:05 p.m. PT and the game will be televised on FOX Sports West. You can find the radio broadcast on KLAA 830. Dan Haren is coming off a shutout win with 14 strikeouts and goes for his third win of the year. On the Yankees side, Andy Pettitte continues the comeback trail, also in search of his third win.
Wednesday's finale will begin at 7:05 p.m. PT and the game will be televised on FOX Sports West and ESPN2. You can find the radio broadcast on KLAA 830. Ivan Nova will bring a 5-2 record into the game for the Yankees and goes up against Ervin Santana, who has been turning things around as of late but is still 2-6 with a 4.45 ERA. This may be the diciest matchup of the series.
