Angels Vs. Athletics, Game 1 Final Score: Halos Shut Out At Home, 5-0

The Los Angeles Angels were hoping that a return to the Big A would be good for their offense after dropping two of three in Arlington. Unfortunately, the second-place Oakland Athletics made themselves right at home in Angel Stadium as they defeated the Halos by a final score of 5-0.

Josh Reddick hit a solo home run with two outs in the top of the first inning to get the scoring started. The A's would slowly tack on runs throughout the game, but the Angels would not even be able to muster an extra-base hit among their eight hits and one walk. Three of those hits came from Maicer Izturis and another two came from Mark Trumbo, who continues to contribute even when no one else on the Angels does.

Oakland starter Tyson Ross came into the game with one win and an ERA over six. He ended up holding the Angels to five hits and a walk over six quiet innings. Dan Haren took the loss, surrendering four runs in six innings on six hits and four walks. Haren falls to 1-4 on the season.
