Angels Vs. Athletics, Game 3 Final Score: Halos Shut Out At Home, 6-0

The Los Angeles Angels once again found themselves on the losing end at home on Wednesday night, falling to the Oakland Athletics by a final score of 6-0.

The Angels found themselves up against a surprisingly dominant Bartolo Colon, who held the Angels to just four hits over eight innings en route to running his record to 3-0. On the other side of things was Halos starter Ervin Santana, who dropped to 0-3 and now holds a 6.75 ERA.

The damage was done in the top of the first inning, when Yoenis Cespedes blasted a three-run homer (his fourth of the year) off of Santana. The Athletics would add another run in the top of the sixth with a leadoff home run from Jonny Gomes, also off Santana. The starter gave up four runs over seven innings off of seven hits and two walks.

The weak Angels bullpen once again reared its ugly head and firmly put the game out of reach in the top of the ninth inning. Oakland plated two more runs in the frame, via a Jemile Weeks RBI double and a bases-loaded walk by Gomes.

The only extra-base hit of the game for the Angels was an Erick Aybar double. The Nos. 1-7 hitters for the Angels went an awful 1-for-23 in the game, with a single by Albert Pujols the lone hit from the front end of the order.
