Spring Training 2012: Angels Make More Cuts, Game Against Dodgers Rained Out

The Los Angeles Angels had their on-field activities cut short on Sunday, but still made a couple of front-office moves as the 2012 squad continues to shape up.

The Angels were scheduled to play an afternoon Cactus Legaue game against the Los Angeles Dodgers, but the rainy day in Southern California extended to Arizona in a big, bad way, leading to the game being canceled.

Off the field, Maria C. Smith of the Orange County Register reports that the Angels made two more cuts to their Spring Training roster on Sunday. One of the two moves made was to option shortstop Jean Segura to Double-A Arkansas. Segura is considered to be the second-highest ranked prospect in the Angels organization. Right-handed pitcher Eric Hurley was also cut from the roster, as he received an assignment to minor league camp.
