The Los Angeles Angels had their sixth Spring Training game on Saturday, hosting a split squad for the San Franicsco Giants. The Angels were able to pick up a 9-5 win to improve their Cactus League record to 4-2.
The Angels took early advantage of Giants starter Shane Loux, touching him up for three runs and four hits through 2.1 innings. C.J. Wilson started the game and pitched scoreless through three innings, with two strikeouts, a hit and a walk. The Giants tied the game back up off of LaTroy Hawkins in the fourth inning. The two teams traded runs and the Giants tied the game 5-5 on an Aubrey Huff home run in the sixth inning, but the Angels were able to go ahead for good in the bottom of the frame thanks in part to a two-run homer from Luis Jiminez.
Mark Trumbo also hit a home run in the fifth inning, his first of Spring Training. Heath Conger and Taylor Lindsey had doubles.
