Angels Fan And SoCal Pro Wrestler Joey Ryan Is MLB Fan Cave Finalist

You may be familiar with MLB's "Fan Cave" gimmick, which they unveiled last season when they had a contest winner stay in New York and watch every game of the regular season. This year, they are opening up multiple spots rather than just one and have narrowed down the contestants to 30 finalists. One of the finalists is noted Los Angeles Angels fan and perhaps more-noted Southern California professional wrestler Joseph Meehan, better known by his ring name: Joey Ryan.

Ryan is one of the founders of SoCal's biggest independent wrestling promotion, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, which has operated out of Reseda for the past few years. Ryan is also a big part of the weekly NWA Hollywood show that airs locally and is the trainer for M1W wrestling out of Anaheim. He is long known for being an unabashed and outspoken Angels fan and has even incorporated their logo into his ring gear on occasion.

The finalists are currently in Arizona for a two-day audition process that includes interviewing players. Ryan is tweeting about it and from all indications, having the time of his life. It's quite endearing that a man who has traveled all over the world, appeared on national television and in movies several times and been a head trainer on Hulk Hogan Celebrity Wrestling still gets star-struck talking to baseball players.

There are still two other Angels fans in the running. Maria C. Smith at the Orange County Register has more information on them.

You can find Meehan's MLB Fan Cave contestant page by clicking right here and you can follow him on Twitter via @JoeyRyanOnline. If there's any fan voting or anything of that nature involved, he'll let you know about it.
