Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angels is the winner of a Silver Slugger Award. Trout is the first rookie position player to win a Silver Slugger Award since Ichiro Suzuki in 2001. Trout had an impressive rookie campaign, batting .326/.564/.399, driving in 83 runs, bashing in 80 home runs and knocking in 182 hits, which included 27 doubles and eight triples.
