Los Angeles Angels' prospects Kaleb Cowart and Travis Witherspoon got in on the offensive fun as the Scottsdale Scorpions beat the Salt River Rafters 13-6 on Tuesday.
Witherspoon boosted his average up to .214 after going 3-5 with four RBIs. Witherspoon hit a bases clearing double in a seven run first inning that quickly put the game out of reach. Witherspoon is now hitting .214/.276/.386 with three home runs and three doubles.
Cowart finished the game 1-4 with two runs, a double and a walk.
The only Angels pitching prospect to see any time on the field was Ryan Chaffee who had a night to forget. Chaffee struggled to close out the ninth inning, allowing three hits and two runs to see his ERA go up to 11.37. Chaffee has been off or on the whole Arizona Fall League. He has eight appearances and has given up runs in four of them.
