Arizona Fall League: Scottsdale defeats Peoria 12-2

The Scottsdale Scorpions improved to 10-8 on the season by beating the Peoria Javelinas.

In Arizona Fall League action that involved players from the Los Angeles Angels, the Scottsdale Scorpions issued a 12-2 beatdown on the Peoria Javelinas. Scottsdale took a 3-0 lead after the third inning, an 8-0 lead after the fourth, a 10-0 lead after the sixth, and led by as much as 12-0 after the top of the eighth. Peoria put two runs on the board in the bottom fo the eighth to complete the scoring.

Two Angels featured prominently in Scottsdale's win over Peoria. Bobby Cassevah was the starting pitcher, going five innings, giving up three hits and issuing one walk while striking out five. Cassevah earned his second win of the season, as he's pitching with a 0.56 ERA so far in Fall League action. Third baseman Kaleb Cowart batted from the seventh spot. Cowart hit one of three at-bats, walking once and scoring two runs the two times he reached base.
