The Arizona Fall League continued on Friday with three games. The Scottsdale Scorpions, who house Los Angeles Angels prospects every year, lost to the Mesa Solar Sox by a score of 8-4 Friday afternoon. The club moved out to an early 4-0 lead, but the bullpen surrendered three runs in the sixth, two runs in the seventh and two more in the ninth.
The lone Angel to play on Friday was Kaleb Cowart. The 20-year-old third baseman, who was selected with the 18th overall pick of the 2010 Draft, entered the day hitting just .181. He went 0-for-3 with a walk and RBI.
Chris Gloor, who pitches during the season for the San Francisco Giants, tossed five innings of one-run ball on Friday. He scattered four hits and one walk, striking out three. He lowered his ERA to 2.65 this fall.
The Scorpions, now 2-5 in the AFL, have another game on Saturday against Phoenix at 12:35 p.m. PT.
