The Los Angeles Angels made a splash this offseason as they signed Albert Pujols to a massive, 10-year contract. So it's only natural that the new Halos' first baseman is featured prominently in the club's promotional affairs. The Angels announced their 2012 promotional schedule on Wednesday, and there are two dates featuring Pujols giveaways.
Fans will receive a Pujols bobblehead on April 17 against the Oakland Athletics, one of two bobblehead dates on the Angels' home schedule. Center fielder Peter Bourjos is the other bobblehead giveaway, on May 16. There will also be a kids Albert Pujols jersey giveaway on July 7 against the Baltimore Orioles.
Fellow free agent signee C.J. Wilson joins the promotional fray as well, with a kids C.J. Wilson backpack on August 18, given to kids from age two to 14 in attendance.
Other Angels promotional highlights include a cowboy hat giveaway on June 2 against the Texas Rangers, a nod to former owner Gene Autry, a Rally Monkey beanie on May 1 against the Minnesota Twins, and a 10th anniversary replica World Series ring figurine on August 14 against the Cleveland Indians.
