Is it too early to talk about the beginning of baseball season? No, of course it's not. Especially when you have the added suspense of watching Albert Pujols take the field for the first time in a Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim uniform against the Kansas City Royals on opening night Friday, April 6 as part of ESPN's 5-pack of games to open the 2012 MLB season.
That's right, 'the Machine' will be on full display starting at 7 pm PT the night of April 6 on ESPN2 as the Angels look to usurp the AL West power right from under the noses of the two-time defensing AL champion Texas Rangers against the upstart Kansas City Royals, looking to build of a decent showing in 2011 on their way back to the winners circle (hopefully).
The MLB season will kick off with the defending champion St. Louis Cardinals taking on the new look Miami Marlins on Wednesday, April 5, on ESPN, then a duo of games Thursday with the Marlins taking on the Cincinnati Reds (ESPN2) and the Boston Red Sox facing the Detroit Tigers (ESPN2).
And Along with the Angels v. Royals Friday, ESPN2 will also have coverage of the San Francisco Giants taking on the Arizona Diamondbacks.
