Angels Battle A's Looking To Gain In Wild Card Race

The Angels open play today two and a half games behind the Boston Red Sox, and one game behind the Tampa Bay Rays.

The Los Angeles Angels close out their series with the Oakland Athletics on Sunday, looking to inch closer to the American League wild card. Joel Pineiro gets the start for the Halos, facing Rich Harden for Oakland.

The Angels open play today two and a half games behind the Boston Red Sox, and one game behind the Tampa Bay Rays. The Rays currently lead the Toronto Blue Jays 4-1 and the Red Sox trail the New York Yankees by the same score. Boston and New York will play a doubleheader today. The best case scenario for the Angels is to end the day one game behind the wild card leader(s).
