Angels Vs. Orioles: Mark Reynolds Feels Ervin Santana Beaning Was Intentional

In Saturday's game, Mark Reynolds of the Baltimore Orioles homered in the first inning, and was hit in the head by an Ervin Santana pitch in the third inning. Reynolds believes the beaning was on purpose, and is not in the lineup in Sunday's finale with the Los Angeles Angels. Roch Kubatko of MASN has the details:

"I don't think he tried to hit me in the head, but I think he hit me on purpose," Reynolds said. "He threw a first-pitch slider. Why throw a first-pitch slider and hit me on the next pitch? But I think he hit me on purpose. I don't think he tried to hit me in the head, though. If he did..."

Reynolds didn't finish his sentence. A teammate did, and I can't print what he said.

Here are Sunday's starting lineups:

Angels (82-69)

Aybar SS
Kendrick 2B
Abreu DH
Hunter RF
Trumbo 1B
Callaspo 3B
Wells LF
Bourjos CF
Mathis C

Orioles (62-88)

Angle CF
Hardy SS
Markakis RF
Guerrero DH

Sunday morning's 10:35 a.m. PDT game will be televised by Fox Sports West. For more news and information on the Angels, be sure to read Halos Heaven.
