Angels Vs. Yankees: Dan Haren, Halos Shutout New York 6-0

Dan Haren pitched a four-hit shutout, leading the Los Angeles Angels to a 6-0 win over the New York Yankees on Saturday night at Angel Stadium in Anaheim. Coupled with the Texas Rangers' loss to the Oakland Athletics on Saturday, the Halos are now just a game and a half out of first place in the American League West.

Haren struck out seven in his gem, picking up his 15th victory of the season. He has won his last seven decisions at home, with a 2.43 ERA in Anaheim during that span. The Angels have won 12 of their last 14 home games, and are 29-10 in Anaheim dating back to June 27.

Torii Hunter and Jeff Mathis both homered for the Angels, and Maicer Izturis hit two doubles for the Halos.

CC Sabathia (19-8) allowed just one run in six innings, but got hung with the loss. Hector Noesi allowed four runs in the bottom of the seventh, including the home run to Mathis, as the Angels broke the game wide open.

Ervin Santana pitches Sunday for the Angels, who go for the sweep against Freddy Garcia and the Yankees.
