Ervin Santana, Angels Look For Rebound In Game 2 With Rangers

The Angels are 6-8 against the Rangers this season.

After dropping the opener of their weekend showdown series in Arlington, the Los Angeles Angels look to pull closer to the Texas Rangers in the American League West. Ervin Santana, on three days rest, gets the start for the Angels, who begin the day three games behind Texas in the standings. C.J. Wilson starts for the Rangers.

Since the beginning of June, Santana has pitched at least seven innings in 12 of 15 starts, and during that span is 6-5 with a 2.38 ERA. Santana has pitched at least 7 2/3 innings in seven consecutive starts. He has made three starts against Texas this season, allowing 14 runs in 17 2/3 innings, and the Angels lost all three contests.

C.J. Wilson, meanwhile has allowed four earned runs in four starts against the Angels this season. Texas has won three of those four starts. On the season, Wilson is 13-5 with a 3.08 ERA, and has won each of his last three starts.
