Dan Haren Pitches Complete Game, Leads Angels Over Tigers 5-1

Dan Haren pitched his third complete game of the season, pitching the Angels to a 5-1 win over the Tigers Saturday afternoon at Comerica Park in Detroit. Haren has now faced Detroit twice this season and has won both times, giving up a total of one run in 18 innings. The Angels ran wild in support of Haren.

Jacob Turner made his major league debut on the mound for the Tigers, and he had a respectable game, allowing two runs in 5 1/3 innings. However, the Angels stole five bases off him, and rallied to take the lead with two runs in the sixth. Erick Aybar had two singles, a double, and two stolen bases in the game, and scored twice.

The Angels are an MLB-best 28-13 since June 13 and have won 11 of their last 12 series. To make it 12 of 13, they have to win tomorrow's outstanding pitching duel, as Jered Weaver and Justin Verlander battle in the finale of the four-game set.
