The rosters for the 2011 MLB All-Star Game were announced this morning on TBS, and the Angels ace had made the American League team. Jered Weaver has been chosen an American League All-Star for the second consecutive year, one of two Angels selected along with Howie Kendrick. Here are the AL starters:

  • Alex Avila C
  • Adrian Gonzalez 1B
  • Robinson Cano 2B
  • Alex Rodriguez 3B
  • Derek Jeter SS
  • Jose Bautista OF
  • Curtis Granderson OF
  • Josh Hamilton OF
  • David Ortiz DH

Weaver is 10-4 this season and leads the American League with a 1.92 ERA. Weaver, who led the major leagues in strikeouts in 2010, was named an All-Star last season when the Angels were the host team but he was ineligible to pitch as he pitched on the Sunday before the game.

The All-Star Game will be played Tuesday, July 12 at Chase Field in Phoenix.
