Dodgers Notes: Ted Lilly Pushed Back A Day, Rafael Furcal Set To Be Activated Sunday

Before Saturday's game with the Angels, Dodgers manager Don Mattingly announced that he has shuffled the Dodgers rotation after the off day on Thursday, June 30. Ted Lilly, who has given up 18 runs and 23 hits in his last 14 2/3 innings over three starts, will be pushed back one day, now starting Tuesday against the New York Mets. Rubby De La Rosa will start Monday, on regular (four days) rest.

Mattingly said Lilly has had elbow tenderness, and hasn't been able to throw his usual bullpen session in between starts, for his last three to four outings. Pushing Lilly back a day allows him to try and get a bullpen session in before Tuesday, to "work on some things," per Mattingly. Lilly has allowed four home runs in his last three starts.

Shortstop Rafael Furcal arrived in Anaheim today, and will be activated before Sunday's game. Dee Gordon is expected to be optioned to Triple A Albuquerque to make room for Furcal, though Mattingly wouldn't comment on the move before tonight's game. "It's somebody's last supper tonight, and they don't need to know that before the game," Mattingly said.
