Twins' Anthony Swarzak Has No-Hitter Through Seven Innings Against Angels

The seventh inning came and went for Anthony Swarzak of the Twins, and the pitcher still has a no-hitter going against the Angels. The problem is, his manager won't be around to see it. Ron Gardenhire was ejected for arguing a pickoff play at second base that ended the Twins' sixth inning in a scoreless duel between Swarzak and Jered Weaver at Target Field in Minnesota.

The Angels' seventh inning went like this:

  • Bobby Abreu flew out to right fielder Michael Cuddyer
  • Torii Hunter flew out to center fielder Denard Span
  • Alberto Callaspo flew out to left fielder Delmon Young

Swarzak has thrown 94 pitches through seven innings, 60 for strikes. The 25-year old threw a career-high 122 pitches in a game back on July 26, 2009, against the Angels.

Jered Weaver has thrown six shutout innings for the Angels, allowing just two hits. Due up for the Angels in the eighth inning will be Russell Branyan, Peter Bourjos, and Jeff Mathis.
