With opening day left fielder Vernon Wells on the disabled list, Angels manager Mike Scioscia has picked 2B/1B Howie Kendrick to replace the injured Wells in the outfield. This will be Kendrick's first start in the outfield, the only other appearance he's made was last season when he played center field for two outs.
