The LA Galaxy made six players available for the first stage of the MLS Re-Entry Process, the team announced on Monday.
The Galaxy declined the options of goalkeeper Brian Perk, defenders Andrew Boyens and Bryan Jordan, midfielder Kyle Nakazawa and forward Pat Noonan. Forward Chad Barrett, who was on loan to a team in Norway, also had his option declined.
The MLS announced that Stage One of the Re-Entry Process will start at noon PT on Friday. The Galaxy still have until 2 p.m. PT on Thursday to re-sign any of their six players. The players also may opt out of the process before then.
If the Galaxy select a player in the Re-Entry Process they must exercise that player's option or sign the player to a contract. If the player is out of contract and rejects the offer, the team drafting him holds first right of refusal for that player.
The Galaxy, as the MLS Cup Champions, hold the 19th selection in the draft.
