The Los Angeles Galaxy traded Edson Buddle to the Colorado Rapids Friday for Colorado's first round pick in the 2013 MLS Supplemental Draft and additional allocation money, according to a press release from the team.
Buddle, who is the fourth-leading scorer in Galaxy history, came back to Los Angles in February of this year after spending a season with German football club FC Ingolstadt. The 31-year-old forward scored three goals in 28 appearances with the Galaxy in 2012 as he helped L.A. earn their second consecutive MLS Cup championship.
Buddle has 93 goals in 250 career regular season games across his MLS career (also played for Columbus, New York and Toronto FC). Buddle totaled 45 of those goals while in a Galaxy uniform. Buddle, a two-time All-Star, is the only player in MLS history to score 40 or more goals for two different teams as he also logged 42 for the Columbus Crew.
