The Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners entered Thursday's match up with the Cal State Fullerton Titans looking for their first road win of the season, and things looked bleak after the first 20 minutes. Down, 43-29, at the half, the Roadrunners mounted a furious comeback to pull out a 72-70 win.
Both teams looked evenly matched through most of the first half. Down just 25-23 with three minutes left in the half, the Titans went on an 18-6 run to close out the half. The Roadrunners started the half off on a 6-0 run in just over a minute. From there, they kept chipping away at the lead, eventually taking a 68-66 lead with three minutes left in the game, their first since they were up, 12-10, halfway through the first half.
The teams traded misses for over two minutes before a Britton Williams lay up gave the Roadrunners a 70-66 lead, eventually winning, 72-70. Stephon Carter led the Roadrunners with 20 points, and Kwame Vaughn paced the Titans with 22.
