The Cal State Fullerton Titans used a huge run early in the second half to pull away and defeat the Idaho State Bengals 66-53 on Thursday night at Titan Gym.
The Titans (4-5) started slow, falling behind 13-6 in the early going before righting the ship and taking a 27-20 lead into the break. After Idaho State (1-7) scored the first two points of the second half, Cal State Fullerton went on a 17-0 run to turn a five-point lead into a 22-point lead. The Bengals went nearly eight minutes without scoring during the run.
Kwame Vaughn led Cal State Fullerton with 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting. Vaughn also notched six rebounds and four assists. Sammy Yeager added 14 points for the Titans, including seven during the huge run.
Tomas Sanchez scored 15 points on 5-of-9 shooting to lead Idaho State. The Bengals shot just 37.8 percent from the field and turned the ball over 17 times.
