Ducks Vs. Stars: Dallas Defeats Anaheim In 2-0 Shutout

The Anaheim Ducks were shut out by the Dallas Stars in their Saturday evening game in Dallas' American Airlines Center by a score of 2-0. The Ducks have lost three of their last four games now and their 68 points put them in 12 place in the Western Conference. The Stars, on the other hand, have won five games in a row and have 79 points, which puts them in seventh place in the conference, but first place in the Pacific Division.

After a scoreless first period, the Stars struck in the second period when Brenden Morrow scored on a power play at the 2:37 mark. There was no more scoring in the second, but in the third Michael Ryder scored an empty-net goal with less than a minute left to play in the game, sealing the victory for the Stars. The Ducks had a total of 22 shots on goal and the Stars had 21.

The Ducks stay on the road to play the Colorado Avalanche on Monday evening at 6 p.m. on NBC, while the Stars will look to keep their winning streak alive on Tuesday against the Minnesota Wild on the road.
