Ducks Vs. Stars Preview: TV Time, Schedule & More

The Ducks still have an outside chance at making the 2012 NHL Playoffs. They'll have to make their push beginning Saturday in Dallas.

The Anaheim Ducks have spent the last two months trying to prove they're not the laughing stock of the NHL. They've done an admirable job of it, turning the season around from their disastrous late-2011 start. They now hold a 29-29-10 record. Beyond just climbing above .500, they have a legitimate shot at overtaking the Kings, Sharks or Coyotes to take over for whoever claims the fourth spot in the Pacific Division at that time. What's more, they are currently only seven points behind the cut-off for a playoff spot in the Western Conference. It's unlikely that they'll make the playoffs, but it is still within reach.

They can start making their push on Saturday evening, as they visit the first-place Dallas Stars. A win in Dallas would make a huge statement about the mindset of the Ducks as the end of the season appears on the horizon. The Stars have a four-game winning streak going into the game, which the Ducks would love to snap. The Ducks are 5-5-0 over their last 10 games; the Stars are 8-1-1.

Saturday's game begins at 5:00 p.m. PT. The game will be televised on Prime Ticket.
