Ducks Vs. Devils Final Score: Ryan Getzlaf Overtime Goal Waved Off, Anaheim Loses 3-2 In Shootout

Martin Brodeur saved 36 of 38 shots on Friday night, leading the New Jersey Devils to a 3-2 shootout victory over the Anaheim Ducks at Prudential Center in Newark. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for the Ducks, but extended their point streak to eight games, during which time Anaheim is 5-0-3.

Ryan Getzlaf scored an apparent game-winning goal at 1:10 of overtime, but after review it was ruled that Getzlaf kicked the puck with his skate and the goal was waved off.

Ducks defenseman Sheldon Brookbank scored his first goal of the season with 2:13 remaining in the third period to tie the score at 2-2. It was the second goal of his career and his first in three seasons.

New Jersey scored the first two goals of the game, as Adam Henrique (his 15th) and Alexei Ponikarovsky (his 10th) lit the lamp in the second period against Ducks goaltender Jonas Hiller. Hiller saved 25 of 27 shots in the loss.

Corey Perry scored at 16:59 of the second period to pull the Ducks within a goal, assisted by Getzlaf and Jason Blake. The goal was the 29th of the season for Perry, who has scored in four consecutive games with six goals during that span.

Anaheim outshot New Jersey 38-27 on the night. The Ducks continue their road trip on Sunday night against the Florida Panthers.
