Jonas Hiller Gets Shutout In Return As Ducks Beat Oilers, 4-0

Edmonton, AB (Sports Network) - Jonas Hiller stopped all 12 shots he faced for his career-high fifth shutout of the season as the Anaheim Ducks topped the Edmonton Oilers, 4-0, at Rexall Place. Bobby Ryan scored twice while Teemu Selanne and Brandon McMillan each had a goal for the Ducks, who went 4-0-0 on their road swing. Devan Dubnyk was pulled in the third period after giving up four goals on 15 shots for the Oilers, who have dropped three straight. Nikolai Khabibulin stopped all seven shots he faced the rest of the way.

The Ducks got the only goal they needed just 34 seconds in when Jason Blake used a toe drag at the left circle to get open and fired the puck down low where Selanne tipped it home. With 4:36 left in the second, the Ducks took a 2-0 lead as Dan Sexton let loose a shot on net from the top of the left circle that McMillan redirected into the net. Just 1:14 later, a turnover in the Edmonton end helped Corey Perry set up Ryan for a shot down low and a 3-0 lead. Perry again assisted on a Ryan goal 1:31 into the third period to account for the final score.

Hiller has 11 shutouts in his career...Selanne has 623 goals is now two goals back of Joe Sakic for 14th place on the all-time list...Anaheim returns home to face Washington on Wednesday...Edmonton hosts Dallas on Tuesday...The Ducks took three of four from the Oilers this season and have won eight of the last nine.
