Ducks Vs. Stars Hockey Final Score: Anaheim Falls 5-3, Drops 12th Straight Road Game

The Dallas Stars rode a pair of third period goals to a 5-3 win over the Anaheim Ducks Monday night at American Airlines Center. The loss was the 12th straight road defeat for the Ducks, who are 5-18-5 overall in their last 28 games.

The Ducks fell behind by a goal after one period after Brenden Morrow scored his seventh goal in the opening period. Less than two minutes into the second period, the hole became much deeper, as the Stars scored a pair of goals 24 seconds apart, by Alex Goligoski and Mike Ribeiro.

However, Anaheim was able to claw their way back with a little help from Dallas penalties. Teemu Selanne scored his 11th goal of the season at 4:30 of the second period, then assisted on another power play goal 10 minutes later, this one by Lubomir Visnovsky. Nick Bonino scored his first goal of the season for the Ducks at 18:27 of the second period to tied the score at 3-3.

With two points, Selanne moved past former Star Mike Modano for 22nd place on the all-time NHL point list with 1,375. Selanne is two goals away from 650 in his career.

Michael Ryder scored a goal at 6:42 of the third period to give the Stars the lead, and Eric Nystrom added another goal eight minutes later to provide the final margin.

Anaheim is 0-3 on their current five-game road trip. The Ducks return home Monday night as their next game is Thursday night against the Kings at Staples Center in Los Angeles.
