Ducks Vs. Blackhawks: Patrick Sharp (Hat Trick), Jonathan Toews Send Anaheim To Sixth Straight Loss, 6-5

The good news for the Anaheim Ducks on Friday afternoon was that they scored five goals, a new season-high for a team averaging just a shade over two goals per contest this year. The bad news is that it wasn't enough to prevent yet another loss, as the Chicago Blackhawks scored four goals in the third period for a 6-5 win at Honda Center.

Patrick Sharp had a hat trick for Chicago, and teammate Jonathan Toews added two goals and three assists of his own. The loss for the Ducks was their sixth straight defeat, their 12th loss in their last 13 games, and 15th loss in their final 17 contests.

Bobby Ryan scored a pair of goals for the Ducks, who took a 4-2 lead into the final period. It was just the fourth time this season Anaheim had scored four goals in a game. However, Toews and Sharp scored two goals each in the third period, giving the Blackhawks a run of four unanswered goals in eight minutes and a 6-4 lead. Corey Perry scored for the Ducks with eight seconds remaining to provide the final margin.

Anaheim continues its six-game homestand on Sunday, hosting the Toronto Maple Leafs.
