Ducks Vs. Blues: MVP Corey Perry To Be Honored Before Sunday's Game

The Anaheim Ducks look for their third straight win on Sunday night, hosting the St. Louis Blues at Honda Center. Corey Perry, the reigning NHL MVP, will be honored by the Ducks before the game. Perry has yet to score a point in three games this season, but what better time to get on the board than on his night?

Fans attending Sunday's game will receive a commemorative poster and hockey puck featuring Perry's likeness.

On Saturday, the Ducks announced Jason Blake would be out three months after a freak injury, a deep laceration of his left wrist after getting but by a skate in Friday's win over the San Jose Sharks. Robby at Anaheim Calling speculated on the roster move to replace Blake:

Although Sexton is likely to be promoted to the team one way or another following Blake's injury, I don't think he deserves the first crack at the second line. As much as I love Sexton's fire, I just don't think he's got the offensive skills to fill that role.

Goalie Jonas Hiller has started all three games so far this season for Anaheim, saving 66 of 71 shots, 93.0%, including stopping 45 of 46 shots in the last two contests. Hiller recorded his 12th career shutout in Friday's win over San Jose.

The Blues are on the second night of back-to-back games, having battled the Sharks in San Jose on Saturday.

Sunday's 5:00 p.m. game will be televised by Prime Ticket. For more news and information on the Ducks, be sure to read Anaheim Calling.
