Ducks Recall Josh Green From Syracuse After Placing Matt Beleskey On IR

With a series of injuries to their forwards, the Anaheim Ducks have recalled left wing Josh Green from the Syracuse Crunch of the AHL, the club announced today. The addition of Green helps offset the loss of Matt Beleskey and Dan Sexton. Sexton underwent surgery to repair a broken nose this week, and will be out for two weeks, and Beleskey was placed on injured reserve yesterday with a concussion, meaning Beleskey will have to miss at least two games.

Green, 32, scored a goal and had two assists in seven games with the Crunch this season. He signed a two-way contract with the Ducks this summer. Green last appeared in the NHL in the 2006-2007 season, when he played with 57 games with the Vancouver Canucks. In seven NHL seasons, Green has scored 35 goals and has 39 assists in 322 career games.

The Ducks play their next eight games in California, with six home games and two road games against the San Jose Sharks. Anaheim's next trip out of state is November 14, when the Ducks travel to Chicago to take on the Blackhawks. Anaheim is 2-0-1 this season at home, where tonight they will hose the New Jersey Devils.
