According to Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports via Twitter, the Los Angeles Lakers have signed 7'3 rookie center Greg Somogyi.
Somogyi played his collegiate career for UC Santa Barbara in the Big West Conference, where he was a four-year letter winner under head coach Bob Williams and averaged 3.5 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks during his career with the Gauchos.
Most recently, Somogyi played with the Lakers' 2012 Summer League team and averaged 1.2 points and 1.6 rebounds, in 7.2 minutes per contest.
It was earlier reported that the team also signed Reeves Nelson out of UCLA, who also played for the Lakers' Summer League squad in 2012. Because of the team's policy on releasing the terms of agreements, the contract information was not made available.
