The Los Angeles Lakers announced Thursday they signed 7'1" center Ronnie Aguilar, a California State Dominguez Hills alum, just days before the team opens training camp.
Aguilar played in six games last season for the Bakersfield Jam of the NBA D-League, averaging 2.2 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. Aguilar is one of 19 players who will be with the Lakers when training camp opens. He joins second round pick Robert Sacre and Laker Summer League member Greg Somogyl as players looking to make the team as added depth behind Dwight Howard, Pau Gasol, Antawn Jamison, Jordan Hill and Earl Clark.
The Lakers will play their first four preseason games in Southern California, but only one will be at Staples Center. They face the Golden State Warriors Oct. 7 in Fresno, the Portland Trailblazers Oct. 10 in Ontario, the Utah Jazz Oct. 13 at Staples and the Jazz again Oct. 16 in Anaheim.
