Deutsche Bank Championship 2012: Rory McIlroy Surges Into Saturday Lead

Going out early on Sauturday, Rory McIlroy has made a push to the top of the 2012 Deutsche Bank Championship leaderboard. McIlroy is six-under through 17 holes on the day, putting him in first place at 12-under for the championship. The reigning PGA Champion, McIlroy has a two stroke lead on second-place Ryan Moore who was three-under for the day.

American Jason Dufner is five-under through 17 holes, moving him up to a tie for third with Seung-yul Noh at 9-under for the tournament.

Tiger Woods is at seven-under after the first day. Woods, the current tour money leader, tees off his second round at 1:10 p.m. ET. Former Masters champion Louis Oosthuizen, who shot 5-under in the first round, also tees off at 1:10 p.m. ET

Phil Mickelson turned in another 3-under, 68 for his second round to move him to 6-under for the tournament.

The projected cut is currently at 1-over. Some notable names hovering around that number are Ricky Fowler (1-over), Rory Sabbatini (1-over), Matt Kuchar (1-over), Vijay Singh (2-over), K.J. Choi (3-over), Graeme McDowell (3-over) and Bubba Watson (4-over).
