The United States will have both their women's water polo and women's soccer teams going for gold. Local star Alex Morgan is from Diamond Bar, and UCLA has stars like Sydney Leroux and Lauren Cheney that figure to be big-time contributors.
The women's water polo team is also going for gold. The team features Los Angeles water polo players like Courtney Mathewson and Kelly Rulon of UCLA, plus Tumua Anae and Kami Craig of USC. The women's basketball and women's volleyball teams also will be competing in the semifinals to try and advance to their gold medal games.
Plenty of other compelling action will also be happening, like the 200 meter finals that feature Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake. The schedule for today's action is below. All times ET. All events are streamed on NBCOlympics.com.
