Women's Long Jump Final: Brittney Reese Wins Olympic Gold

Brittney Reese of the United States has been dreaming about tonight for quite some time after coming up 5th in Beijing. The long jump star from Inglewood has dominated the competitive long jump circuit since that time, finishing 1st at the World Championships in 2009 and 2011 and winning gold at the Indoor Worlds the last two years.

And tonight she made the jump to win Olympic gold by going 7.12 meters, just outdistancing the competition that included her American teammate Jana DeLoach and Russian rival Elena Sokolova. Reese finally has her elusive Olympic gold medal, capping off an impressive four year string of long jump victories.

Here are the final results in the women's long jump for the final medalists.
